Gearing Up for Anti-G8 Summit Actions in Japan

Many people are gathering in Tokyo, Japan and beginning to heading up to the Northern-most island of Hokkaido where the G8 Summit will be held July 7-9th. Today, a protest march looped around the crowded Shinjuku area in the rain. Nearly as many police surrounded the march, creating a line in the middle of the street to keep protestors in line.

In a few days, most protestors will move to Sapporo for a large march on July 5th and then onto the remote Lake Toya for protests closer to the hotel hosting the G8 Summit.

Keep an eye out for more news. The following Korean blog site includes a recent statement against the measures the Japanese government has taken to prevent many people from entering Japan to voice their opinions against the G8 Summit: http://blog.jinbo.net/noG8/?pid=115
