"Demanding an end to the war through an escalating series of actions
on the THIRD FRIDAY of every month
beginning Friday September 21st :

The slow motion train wreck that is the occupation of Iraq grows more nightmarish by the day. In 2006 the American people voted to bring it to an end. But the political process is moving glacially at best. We must force the media and the politicians to recognize just how angry and how massive anti-war sentiment in this country has grown.

It's time for the Iraq Moratorium.

Start: 7:00 pm
End: 9:00 pm

Hello all:

This Friday we start a monthly speaker series. We hope you can come and participate. This debate is being held as I have heard different opinions on this subject from honorable, informed people. I know that many of you have made up your minds about this subject matter, but I believe that there may be information on either side of the question that I'm (you are?) not aware of. If nothing else, this promises to be some fun. Both of these men are scholars, and well informed.

Start: 7:00 pm
End: 9:00 pm

This event is the first in a 2007 speaker series sponsored by UFPPC. Dr. Sid Olufs, Political Science Professor at Pacific Lutheran University, will debate Dr. Steve Niva, who teaches International Politics and Middle East Studies at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, on whether it is our responsibility to stay in Iraq until the atmosphere is more politically stable, or whether the U.S. should leave Iraq. This event is free and the public is welcome.

The first film to be made in Iraq since Saddam, this emotionally charged film from Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi shows the Iraqi-Turkish border on the eve of the American invasion. Acted by local children, the story is told from the perspective of a 13 year old boy who leads his friends in cleaning up UN landmines.
