Posted March 16th, 2008 by Acumensch
Date of First Release:
March 16, 2008Tacoma anti-war activists shut down the military recruiting center at the Tacoma Mall for the day, March 15th 2008. This protest was for the 5th Year Anniversary of the invasion of Iraq in 2003, which is on March 19th. March 19th will be a "day of mass-resistance" in the major US cities.
Seeing as the ratio of protester to counter-protester in Tacoma was something like 2:3 we decided to ask them how they heard and why they came out. Tacoma has one of the largest JROTC and ROTC programs on the West Coast, with every high school participating. Many of the protest organizers were high school students, college students, veterans, teachers, and concerned community members, while the internets and radios organized the counter-protester protest.
