Vics Pizza and Vietnam and Iraq Veterans speaking!

The goal of the fundraiser is help us open a GI Coffee House early this fall near Ft. Lewis. It will be modeled after the successful effort near Ft Drum New York. We want to provide a safe place, off-base, where GIs can meet, listen to live music, use donated computers to connect with friends and family, access information and counseling to help them chart their life, and just talk with one-another and other vets. This is an important and historic effort. We have the endorsement of the Iraq Veterans Against the War, Veterans for Peace, and a myriad of local and national social justice organizations.

First, we need to get the coffee house open and then we need volunteers to help make it work. I am reaching out to everyone who hates the war and the occupation, but who has compassion for the soldiers carrying the weight of both on their own and their family's shoulders. If you are frustrated with the ineffectiveness of your voice reaching those who should be accountable for these crimes, I urge you to join us to let your voice be heard directly by those who can make a difference.

Even if you cannot join us on Sunday, please consider a contribution of time, energy, money, or equipment and resources to make the Coffee House succeed. Thank you for your time. I hope to see you there.
