Posted December 18th, 2008 by AndrewAt noon today in NYC Police attacked students and supporters at the New School University which has been occupied since last night. The students spread the occupation and were letting more occupiers into the building when the NYPD showed up attacked students and entered the school. One person was arrested but students were able to repel the police, barricading themselves inside the school. Word from the inside is that there are now many more students occupying and they are going strong!

On October 23, an estimated 30,000 university students took over Rome’s streets. Marching to the chant of “Berlusconi is a piece of shit”, students passed the train station, receiving cheers from young Kurdish immigrants.
The students then joined up with young people from the Horus social center, which was brutally cleared out by the police a few days earlier. The students were met with a large police presence.
Olympia SDS continues pressure on Evergreen for reinstatement

The rally will start at 3pm in Red Square at Evergreen. All community members are welcome to attend this. Now is the perfect time that our comrades, allies and supporters from Olympia, Cascadia, the US of A and beyond put pressure on the Evergreen administration to reinstate SDS as a student group, with full funding, complete rights and no strings attached.
Students disrupt UC Regents meeting by locking themselves to the University of California San Francisco
Posted March 20th, 2008 by PatrickWhile others protested the war in Iraq, students locked down to the UCSF building to block the UC Regents meeting held at the University. They locked down with u-locks as the police bent several bolt cutters and the fire department damaged a 'jaws of life' before giving up. The Regents were ushered into a fire exit and later a few lock downs were broken through. Later the police dismantled the doors and arrested the students with locks still around their necks. The students also had a press conference, a students meeting and went into the regents meeting.

Posted March 1st, 2008 by AnonymousOn February 28th, UC Santa Cruz workers represented by the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 3299, and backed by students, demonstrated for justice, dignity and a fair working contract. The demonstration, aided by the sunshine, was organized by AFSCME and the Student and Worker Coalition for Justice. Over 350 people took part in the largest demonstration of the school year in support of UCSC's most underpaid workers.
