This weekend extensive contamination of the bioswale just north of the NWDC was found by members of the BORDC-Tacoma. The attached pictures show this contamination of petrochemicals and other probably toxic liquids. An estimated 380 gallons of diesel oil (but perhaps as much as 1,800 gallons) was released into the Hylebos Waterway during an unattended transfer of fuel between tanks on a fishing vessel. Christine Gregoire's efforts to clean up that waterway now appear somewhat futile.
